Type Locality and Naming

By the Oybadam stream, Chumkartau Mountains, Turkestan Range, A.N.Golikov in 1985 (165, p.51). Stratotype in the upper reaches of the Oybadam stream.

Synonym: Oybadam Fm, Oybadamskaya Suite, Ойбадамская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Aspidine-black carbonaceous-siliceous-schistose slates. Thickness 400-490m.

Contains graptolites - Paraclimacograptus innotatus (Nich.), Akidograptus acuminatus (Nich.), A. cuneatus Chal., Cystograptus vesiculosus (Nich.), Raphidograptus tornquisti (Nich.), Dimorphograptus swanstoni (Lapw.), Coronograptus cyphus (Lapw.) and others, characteristic of the Akidograptus acuminatus–Coronograptus cyphus zones.
